The Laspa Fellowship is a prestigious program that offers returning students specific leadership training and workshops designed around the center’s six core leadership competencies and a signature capstone presentation. The program provides a unique opportunity for student employees to build their leadership development profile and prepare to undertake leadership roles in their public and private lives.
Participants in the Laspa Fellowship program will:
- Explore leadership styles and better understand their own leadership strengths and weaknesses to employ personally, and in their social and academic environments
- Be able to identify leadership traits that inform communication styles and organizational dynamics
- Gather divers perspectives through discussions with staff, peers, and community leaders that allow them to explore leadership in action
- Discover leadership opportunities that help them acquire skills that promote self-reflection, networking, conflict negotiation, and positive change
All returning Scripps students in good academic standing with a demonstrated commitment to leadership development and personal growth are eligible to participate. Applicants must be able and willing to work on-campus for a full academic year.*
*Due to the continued spread of the Coronavirus, the 2020 Laspa Fellowship will be held virtually and students will not be required to hold a current student employment position to participate.
Interested students can submit a resume and 1-2 page statement of interest demonstrating their individual commitment to leadership development and personal growth to firstname.lastname@example.org by September 15. Include name, class year, home city/state/country, and major.
