If you prefer to make a gift by check or money order, you may mail it to the College. Please make your check or money order payable to Scripps College and indicate the purpose for your gift and in whose name the gift should be acknowledged. Match Your Gift

Match Your Gift

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees and/or their spouses! To learn if your employer supports this program, check with your company’s human resources department or check out Scripps’ matching gift portal. If your employer matches, please contact Advancement Services at 909-607-1543 and let us know you want to participate in the matching gift program. We are happy to guide you through the process!

Gifts of Securities Transfer

To make a gift of stock, we’ll need to know the type of stock and the purpose of your gift. Gifts of stock or securities may be deducted at full market value on the date of transfer to the College. Please contact our Advancement Services team at 909-607-1543 for support with the exchange. Learn more about making a gift of stock.

Gifts of IRA Charitable Rollover

If you are 70-½ years old or older, you can take advantage of a simple way to benefit Scripps College and receive tax benefits in return. You can give up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to a qualifying charity like ours without having to pay income tax on the money. For more information, please see our Gift Planning site or contact our Gift Planning team at (909) 621-8400. When you’re ready to direct the rollover, pleasee contact our Advancement Services team at 909-607-1543 so we can look for your check from your IRA administrator. Gifts of Real Estate

When you give Scripps appreciated property you have held longer than one year, you qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction and avoid paying capital gains tax. Plus, you no longer have to deal with that property’s maintenance costs, property taxes, or insurance! Gifts of Personal Property

Scripps accepts a limited number of gifts-in-kind and there must be a direct relationship between the gift and our educational mission. For more information, please contact our Advancement Services team at 909-607-1543 and we’ll be delighted to help you.
