After an agonizing wait, Scripps is thrilled to welcome the CMS Athenas, its intercollegiate women’s athletic team comprised of students from Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, and Scripps Colleges, back to the field this fall. Together with her staff and coaches, CMS Athletics Director Erica Jasper has been busy making preparations to ensure the team is as safe as possible.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) Stags and Athenas cross-country programs recently welcomed Marina Muncan as their new head coach. Muncan comes to Claremont with over 14 years of coaching experience, most recently as the coach for women’s distance runners at Rutgers University for the last five years. Muncan also competed for the Serbian national team in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and was a finalist at the 2012 European Championships.

This past January, Catherine Allen ’20 attended the 2020 NCAA Immersion Program, which brought 40 minority Division III (D-III) student athletes from across the country to the NCAA Conference. The program aimed to expose students to the business aspect of the organization, provide education on the process of working in athletic administration, and define and embrace the qualities of young future leaders.
