Spotlight on Staff: Judy Harvey Sahak ’64, Director and Sally Preston Swan Librarian for the Ella Strong Denison Library

Judy Harvey Sahak ’64 moves with an easy familiarity around the Ella Strong Denison Library as she selects a few of her most beloved objects from the thousands contained in the rare book room. She admits that it is hard to pick favorites, as each piece of the collection carries a special meaning for her. As the College’s longest-serving librarian, Sahak knows the rare book room, and all of Denison’s holdings, intimately.

Spotlight on Staff: Rima Shah, Director of the EmPOWER Center

This month heralds the opening of the 7C EmPOWER Center for survivors of sexual assault. The center provides free, confidential advocacy and support to 7C students impacted by sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, and stalking, as well as programs that will develop organically through collaborations between students, faculty, staff, and the newly appointed director of the center, Rima Shah.

Spotlight on Staff: Corrina Lesser, Director of Public Events and Community Programs

This past fall, Scripps College welcomed Corrina Lesser as the new director of public events and community programs. Lesser was previously director of programming and planning for the Chicago Humanities Festival, where she helped curate annual programs as well as single events focused on cultivating public engagement with visual art, music, literature, history, film, performance, and other topics in the humanities.
