Welcome, New Students!

Make your transition to Scripps smoother by following this list of important dates and deadlines for new students. Dates subject to change.

Check your Scripps College email regularly! All College information, updates, and reminders will be sent to your Scripps email. We recommend adding “scrippscollege.edu” as a safe sender to ensure you receive all Scripps communications.

JUNE

  • June 3: IT credentials sent to new students’ email used on their admission application
  • June 4: Housing application online portal opens
  • June 5: Financial aid notification to students receiving aid with access instructions for the financial aid portal
  • June 10: Billing notification to complete Tuition Payment Agreement
  • June 15: Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) notifications begin from Gallagher, the College’s health insurance partner
  • June 19: Deadline to complete housing application
  • June 22: Core A survey sent to all first-year students. All Core A students will read Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance by Angela Duckworth this summer and discuss in their fall Core class.

JULY

  • July 1: Deadline to submit Tuition Payment Agreement
  • July 1: Deadline to submit final high school transcripts
  • July 10: Core A survey due
  • July 11: First billing statement notification emailed to students
  • July 15: Deadline to waive Scripps’ SHIP (notifications continue if you have not enrolled or completed waiver)
  • July 15: Deadline to complete online foreign language placement exam
  • July 15: Deadline to complete SHS health forms
  • July 21: Deadline to complete placement exam for Chemistry 29

AUGUST

  • August 1: First bill due
  • August 6–7: Class registration (completed online; students are assigned a time)
  • August 11: Second bill sent to students (includes SHIP if you have not completed the waiver)
  • August 18–23: Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) athletics move-in (with specific dates sent directly by the coaches)
  • August 19–20: International Student Orientation
  • August 21: First-Gen Student Move-In Day
  • August 21–24: International and first-gen student pre-orientation programs
  • August 25: New Student Move-In Day (for those not participating in pre-orientation programs)
  • August 25–30: New Student Orientation
