Welcome Home!

We’re excited to help you settle into your new home at Scripps. Here’s what you need to know:

Getting Your Housing Assignment

In early June, you’ll receive access to the Student Housing Portal to complete your housing application (due late June). Your responses help us thoughtfully match you with roommates who share your preferences. Housing assignments arrive in mid-July—just in time to start planning!

Note: Students needing housing accommodations may have an earlier deadline. All deadlines will be shared by June 1.

Your Room Awaits

First-year students will likely be assigned to triple rooms with two roommates. Each student room includes everything you need to live and study comfortably (one of each for each student):

  • Twin XL bed with mattress
  • Desk, chair, and floor lamp
  • Two-drawer dresser
  • Closet or armoire

Each residence hall features a shared kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, and microwave—perfect for late-night snacks or cooking with friends.

Laundry Made Easy

Every hall has washers ($1.00 per load) and dryers ($0.50 per load) that use Claremont Cash loaded onto your student ID.

Good to Know

  • A complete packing list with tips on what to bring (and leave at home) will be available by June 1.
  • Leave your car at home! First-year students cannot have cars on campus unless approved for special circumstances.
  • Housing closes during winter and summer breaks—plan ahead for these times away.
