Scripps Association of Families

The Scripps Association of Families (SAF) serves as an important link between Scripps College and parents. Parents and families of our students are valued members of our community. We encourage you to keep up-to-date on College news and events, connect with fellow parents and alumnae and, of course, visit your daughter on campus.

Welcome to the Office of Parent Engagement

As a parent of a Scripps student, you are now part of a wonderful community. You are automatically a member of Scripps Association of Families and we hope you check in with us regularly so that you stay connected and informed about all things SCRIPPS! We want your student to have an enriching and successful college experience. The College believes that parental support aids student success.

With that in mind, the Office of Parent Engagement was created to provide you with direct relationships with the institution. We reach out via email and post regularly, keeping you well informed of campus and regional events in your area. If you are the parents of a new Scripps student, you are most likely involved in planning for the upcoming transition to campus life. We understand that this is both exciting and at times overwhelming. We hope you utilize our office as a resource for information and join us in building our incredible, dynamic, and diverse community.

We are pleased to welcome your family to Scripps Association of Families and look forward to sharing these next years together.

Families will be called for a community phone conversation with our academic and student life deans as the first semester winds down. Family Weekend is one of Scripps’ most popular events. Every year more than 600 family members from around the globe come to Scripps College over President’s Day Weekend. Family members can participate in four days of activities and take a glimpse into their student’s life at Scripps, which includes attending classes with your student, taking in-depth historic and botanic campus tours, attending student and faculty performances, and enjoying special meals and social events on campus with other families, students, and staff.

Program information will be mailed and emailed in December. Please consider making travel and hotel plans early. If you have any questions, please contact us by email at families@scrippscollege.edu or by phone at 909.607.3043.
