Alumnae Association Internship Fund
A newly established initiative of the Alumnae Leadership Council to enrich student opportunities for career exploration.
An internship can open doors, establish a valuable network, and give students critical work experience and industry knowledge that employers are now demanding- even of new college graduates. In spring 2015, Scripps College received $518,845 in internship funding requests from current students but only had resources to fund $198,000 of these requests. In response to this critical unmet need, the Alumnae Leadership Council is establishing the Alumnae Association Internship Fund to complement existing sources of internship funding.
The Alumnae Leadership Council has set a goal of funding ten students with an average stipend of $4,000 by June 30, 2016. By all of us working together, we can create lasting impact for Scripps student who are working hard to be Scripps alumnae.

Alumnae Leadership Council
The Alumnae Leadership Council, the governing board of the Alumnae Association, consists of the officers of the Association, who are elected by the alumnae constituency: the president, the president-elect, the vice-presidents, alumna trustees, and recent graduate trustees (elected by their class). Also serving on the Council are the Scripps Associated Students president, Camp Scripps Representative, Lois Langland Alumna-in-Residence chair, Honors, Awards and Recognition chair, Alumnae/Student Diversity Chair, and other standing committees appointed by the Association president.
The Alumnae Leadership Council is charged with planning and executing the programs and activities of the Alumnae Association. Each year, a variety of academic, networking, and social events sponsored by the Alumnae Association take place in locations across the country. These events are planned in conjunction with the Regional Associates volunteer program. If you are interested in giving your time to help organize an event for your area, let us know!
