CMS Athletics is a joint intercollegiate program between Scripps, Claremont McKenna and Harvey Mudd colleges. Teams are represented by two mascots, the Athenas and the Stags. The CMS Department of Athletics and Physical Education endeavors to enhance the liberal arts missions of Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, and Scripps Colleges. By providing excellent educational, recreational, and competitive opportunities, CMS strives to build community, promotes lifelong health, fosters personal leadership and team growth, and upholds standards of responsibility, perseverance, character, integrity, and inclusion
The Tiernan Field House at Scripps College support and host athletic practices and friendly competitions throughout the academic year for Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, and the Men’s and Women’s Swim Team. Additionally, club sports teams utilize the field and pool for their practices and competitions. Some of these teams include Women’s Rugby, Women’s Soccer, Field Hockey, Club Swimming, and both Men’s and Women’s Ultimate Frisbee.
