Class of 2019: On Graffiti Wall, Art and Activism Collide

In one of the most enduring traditions at Scripps College, seniors leave their mark on campus by designing and signing an original mural on Graffiti Wall, adjacent to the Rose Garden. Spanning nearly a century, this rite of passage is a testament to the changing attitudes, concerns, and aesthetics of graduating classes.

Class of 2018: Graffiti Wall

Since 1931, Scripps’ graduating seniors have participated in what has become an essential rite of passage at the College: the signing of Graffiti Wall. Each year, seniors choose a mural design from student-submitted illustrations to paint on the wall, and then the entire graduating class adds its signatures. Graffiti Wall is a visual reminder of Scripps’ history and reflects the changing tastes and attitudes of students over the decades.

Celebrate Earth Day with Art, Music, and Activities at Scripps’ Sustainability Fair

On April 20, 5C Earth Week events will culminate in the eighth annual Scripps Sustainability Fair. Newly expanded for this year, the event brings student clubs and programs across the 5Cs together with local organizations to celebrate our connection to Earth and one another. The fair will be presented in two parts—day and evening—and will take place on Bowling Green.
