Punk Rock Music Festival, AthenaFest, to Benefit Rock ‘n Roll Camp for Girls LA

AthenaFest punk rock music festival will be held at Scripps College on Saturday, November 12, from 1-7 p.m., on Bowling Green. The festival is sponsored by Scripps Live Arts, a student-run organization on campus. The festival is free and open to the public.

AthenaFest will feature six local, Los Angeles, and Orange County-area punk bands. The festival’s line-up and links to the bands are listed below:

Line-up

  • 1 p.m.— Fizzy Cola Lip Kiss (Pomona College) premiere performance
  • 2 p.m.—You, Me, and Us (Inland Empire)
  • 3 p.m.—Palm Reader (Orange County)
  • 4 p.m.—Lazy Mary (Long Beach)
  • 5 p.m.—Cool Moms (Los Angeles) featuring Allison Wolfe of Bratmobile
  • 6 p.m.—Crazy Band (Los Angeles)

AthenaFest is a benefit event with all proceeds going to Rock ‘n Roll Camp for Girls LA, a non-profit organization that empowers young women through music education. The camp’s mission is to promote self-expression, creativity, and community-building among young women and girls of all backgrounds and income levels. All donations are voluntary and not necessary for admittance to the festival. For more information about Rock ‘n Roll Camp for Girls LA, visit their website.

AthenaFest is co-sponsored by the Motley Coffeehouse, PEC Live Arts, KSPC 88.7 FM, and the Pitzer Feminist Coalition. For more information about this event, contact scrippslivearts@gmail.com.
