Feminist activist, co-founder of the National Women’s Political Caucus and Ms. magazine, Gloria Steinem, will address the Scripps College graduating seniors at commencement exercises on Sunday, May 16, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. on the campus’s Elm Tree Lawn.

Lawrence Weschler to Continue “Life Stories” Series with Address on “Vermeer in Bosnia”

On Monday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m., Lawrence Weschler, author and director of the New York Institute for the Humanities at New York University, will lecture on “Vermeer in Bosnia.” The lecture, which stems from Weschler’s coverage of the war crimes tribunals in The Hague, will take place in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons, on the Scripps College Campus.

Scripps College, Claremont McKenna College, Pomona College, Harvey Mudd College and Pitzer College have all canceled classes for Wednesday, March 10, in a show of solidarity in response to a hate crime that occurred in a parking lot located on the Pomona College campus Tuesday night.
