Italy’s Consul General to Deliver State of the European Address at Scripps College

Diego Brasioli, Consul General of Italy, will deliver the State of the European Union Address “Leading with Style: The Priorities of the Italian Presidency of the European Union,” on Wednesday, October 8, at 4:15 p.m. in Balch Auditorium at Scripps College. Consul General Brasioli speaks on behalf of the Italian Presidency of the European Council of Ministers and is part of the European Union Center of California’s Fall 2003 Lecture Series. Mr. Brasioli was appointed Consul General of Italy and relocated to Los Angeles in July of 2003. Prior to this appointment, he served in various diplomatic positions in the Middle East. He was posted to Islamabad, Pakistan, as Second Secretary in charge of Economic and Commercial Affairs, Internal Political Affairs and Relations with the Afghan Resistance. He was Deputy Director of the Middle East Desk at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome, where he was responsible for dealing with the Middle East peace process, Iran, Libya, and Iraq. Most recently, Mr. Brasioli served as Deputy Chief of Mission of the Italian Embassy in Beirut.

The European Union Center of California, housed on the Scripps College campus, sponsors Consul General Brasioli’s appearance.
