Sundance’s “Mosquita y Mari” Screens at Scripps College

Scripps College screens the coming-of-age film, “Mosquita y Mari,” at 7 p.m. on April 6 in Vita Nova Hall, 385 E. 9th St., room 100. The event is free and open to the public.

The first narrative feature directed by a Chicana to screen at the Sundance Film Festival, “Mosquita y Mari” explores the intimate friendship between two Chicanas growing up in Huntington Park, Calif. Aurora Guerrero, the film’s writer-director, the cast, and crew will be at the screening and will lead a discussion with the audience. NPR profiled Guerrero in a recent feature story about the film.
