Fine Arts Foundation Tea, Graciela Nardi “Latin American Art in the United States

The Scripps College Fine Arts Foundation will host a lecture by Graciela Nardi, painter, art teacher, and director of the Pomona, California, Latino Art Museum, Wednesday, December 14, at 1:30 p.m. in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons at Scripps College. Nardi will speak on the topic of “Latin American Art in the United States.” There will be tea following the lecture. The event is free and open to the public. Graciela Nardi, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, studied art in Argentina, Spain, Puerto Rico, and the United States. Since 1991, the artist has held many solo and selected exhibitions across the United States. She has been featured in several art publications and garnered awards for her paintings. Nardi is a member of the Associated Artists of the Inland Empire, the vice president of the Argentinean Professional Association, and the art coordinator for the Florida Museum of Hispanic and Latin American Art.

Nardi founded Latino Art Museum in downtown Pomona’s Arts Colony in July 2001. Offering art education and exhibition programs in both Spanish and English, the museum is a nonprofit organization created to promote the works of Latin American contemporary artists living in the Untied States.

Scripps College Fine Arts Foundation, created in 1935, hosts this lecture as part of its mission to stimulate public interest in art and to raise funds to foster art education and programming at the College.
