Claremont Concert Orchestra Observes 10th Anniversary of Scripps College Performing Arts Center

The Claremont Concert Orchestra and the Claremont Chorale celebrate the 50th anniversary of Garrison Theater and the 10th anniversary of the Scripps College Performing Arts Center by performing Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125” at 8 p.m. on Dec. 14 and at 3 p.m. on Dec. 15 in Garrison Theater of the Scripps College Performing Arts Center, 241 E. 10th St. This event is free and open to the public.

Scripps College Assistant Professor of Music David Cubek will conduct the orchestra, while Associate Professor of Music Charles Kamm will conduct the Chamber Choir and the Concert Choir of Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer and Scripps Colleges. Gregory Norton will direct the Claremont Chorale.

At the celebratory opening of the Scripps College Performing Arts Center in 2003, the Claremont Concert Orchestra performed Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125” and it will again perform the Beethoven classic at this 10-year anniversary event.
