Brad and Mary Anne Blaine Faculty Lecture Series: Juliet Koss

Professor Juliet Koss will speak on Empathy and Abstraction at the Munich Artists’ Theater at Scripps College in the Hampton Room of the Elizabeth Hubert Malott Commons on Monday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m.

An Assistant Professor of Art History at Scripps College since Fall 2000, Dr. Koss specializes in early 20th-century European avant-garde art and architecture. Formerly, she was a Teaching Fellow in both the Fine Arts and the Visual and Environmental Studies Departments of Harvard University. She has also worked or interned in the Cooper-Hewitt and the Whitney Museums in New York and the Orsay Museum in Paris. Dr. Koss holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Architecture: History and Theory of Art.

Former Scripps Professor of History and current Trustee Brad Blaine, along with his wife Mary Anne, are proud to sponsor this lecture. The Blaines have generously underwritten a lecture series featuring outstanding Scripps faculty to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Scripps College. This and all other lectures in the series are free and open to the public.
