Brad and Mary Anne Blaine Faculty Lecture Series: David Andrews

Professor David M. Andrews, director of the European Union Center of California, will speak on Europe, the Balkans, and the Future of International Governance at Scripps College in the Hampton Room of the Elizabeth Hubert Malott Commons on Thursday, October 4 at 12:00 noon.

An Associate Professor of Politics and International Relations at Scripps College, Dr. Andrews specializes in the politics and economics of the European Union and European monetary history. After earning his Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he had appointments as a Fellow at Georgetown University’s Center for German and European Studies and as a Fulbright Scholar in European Union Affairs at the London School of Economics. Since 1998, Dr. Andrews has been the director of the European Union Center of California, housed on the Scripps College campus, which is one of ten such centers in the United States. The Center seeks to promote education, scholarly research, and public understanding of European integration and its consequences.

Former Scripps Professor of History and current Trustee Brad Blaine, along with his wife Mary Anne, are proud to sponsor this lecture. The Blaines have generously underwritten a lecture series featuring outstanding Scripps faculty to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Scripps College.
