In celebration of the 60th birthday of the Scripps College Press, Robin Price will present the Frederic W. Goudy Lecture on the Book Arts on Saturday, September 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Humanities Auditorium on the Scripps College campus. In her address, Hijinks at the Press: Chance, Randomness, and Blind Collaboration in Contemporary Artists’ Books, Price will survey recent work, primarily in the field of letterpress printed editions, and discuss chance principles at play in her newest book, Slurring at the Bottom: A Printer’s Book of Errors.
A 1984 graduate of Pomona College, Robin Price was introduced to letterpress printing at the Scripps College Book Press. Today, she designs, prints, and publishes limited editions on a variety of subjects, and her work is widely collected and exhibited internationally.
