CMS Athenas soccer conquered opponents in two matches this past week, earning a spot in the SCIAC tournament in November. First battling the Whittier Poets for a 7-3 win, then topping the La Verne Leopards 2-0, CMS came out strong and finished strong. Athenas now are 7-5-3 overall and have 22 points in SCIAC play with a 7-3-1 record.
With 22 points, CMS is guaranteed the second or third seed in the SCIAC Tournament. The seeding will be finalized with the last of the season conference games.
The Athenas are scheduled to play their last regular season game at Redlands this Wednesday at 7 p.m.
