Hao Huang, Bessie and Cecil Frankel Chair in Music and professor of music, will launch the next season of his popular Gold Mountain podcast, “Iron Horse Road,” on July 19. Equal parts history and travelogue, “Iron Horse Road” tells the story of the 20,000 Chinese laborers who built the Transcontinental Railroad. The podcast is written and produced by Micah Huang, with Hao Huang providing research and commentary.

Huang’s previous Gold Mountain season, “Blood on Gold Mountain,” delved into the history of the LA Chinatown massacre. It received coverage in the Washington Post and other media outlets.
