Professor Warren Liu’s New Book First Contact Makes Must-Read List 2026

Professor of English and Associate Dean of Faculty Warren Liu’s new poetry book First Contact made the Orange County Register’s list of poetry books to read in 2026.  

First Contact, published by Kaya Press, is a humorous, polyphonic poem telling the story of an initial encounter between a shipwrecked crew of colonizers and a coastal town.
