Wendy Cheng, associate professor of American studies, discussed her archival research at a symposium hosted by the Huntington Library and Botanical Garden, Pasadena Now reports. The symposium, held on March 4, sought to address the complex experiences of Asian Americans in California. Cheng highlighted the archive of Lily Lee Chen, the first Chinese American woman to be elected mayor of any city in the United States.
