Board of Trustees Chair Lynne Thompson ’72 has been named as the 2021 Los Angeles Poet Laureate, CBS Los Angeles reported. In his announcement, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti described Thompson as an “acclaimed writer, an outspoken force who uses words to tell stories and unite communities and open us up to perspectives.” Thompson began her term as chair in 2018; her poetry has appeared in Ploughshares and received the Perugia Press Prize.
