In the Media: Broadway World Highlights The Conference of the Birds at the Broad Stage

Portrait of Scripps College Associate Professor of Music Anne Harley

The Conference of the Birds, based on a text by Sufi mystic poet Attar, will be performed at the Broad Stage in June, Broadway World reports. The performance co-premiered at Scripps College in March and is funded in part by a 2021 grant from the National Endowment of the Arts, which Associate Professor of Music Anne Harley received to support three new works of vocal chamber music by emerging California composers. The Conference of the Birds is composed by Fahad Siadat and directed and choreographed by André Megerdichian, with a libretto by Sholeh Wolpé.
