
Amy Marcus-Newhall, president of Scripps College, has been selected as one of 19 college presidents nationwide for the second cohort of the Aspen-Kern Presidential Leadership Fellowship, an initiative of the Aspen Institute’s Aspen-Kern Program for Leadership and Character in Higher Education.
The Fellowship supports and develops the leadership of new college presidents through dialogue, reflection, and collaboration with peers from diverse institutions across the country. Chosen from more than 300 eligible presidents, the 19-member cohort represents a broad range of higher education leaders, perspectives, and regions.
Marcus-Newhall, Scripps’ 11th president, has served the College since joining the psychology faculty in 1992 and is widely recognized for her leadership, commitment to liberal arts education, and dedication to advancing student success. The fellowship reflects Marcus-Newhall’s continued commitment to principled leadership and the future of higher education.
