Scripps Remembers Life Trustee Alyce de Roulet Williamson ’52

Alyce de Roulet Williamson ’52

Scripps College honors the life and legacy of Life Trustee Alyce de Roulet Williamson ’52 who passed away March 2026.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Scripps in 1952, Williamson remained a devoted alumna and philanthropist, joining the Board of Trustees in 2000 and establishing the Williamson Endowed Scholarship. Through her generosity, she profoundly shaped arts, culture, and healthcare in Los Angeles, serving in leadership roles with the Los Angeles Opera, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena Symphony and Pops, the Huntington Library, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, and many other organizations.

Williamson’s roots go deep at Scripps. The Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery is named for her mother-in-law, a patron of the arts, and she was the aunt of Scripps alumna Whitney de Roulet Bullock ’74 and sister-in-law of Victoria “Cici” Andrew Williamson ’58. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren “Spud” Williamson, a Life Trustee of Claremont McKenna College.

Remembered for her deeply giving spirit, Alyce de Roulet Williamson leaves a lasting imprint on Scripps College and Southern California.
