Pablo Méndez Granadino is a professional violinist and community music workshop leader. His career as a freelance musician has landed him recordings and performances with the Mariachi Divas, Emmanuel, Rumbankete, Metalachi, Charangoa, Charanga Cubana, Adhesivo, Grupo Friguey, Larry Harlow, Alfredo de la Fe, Chayanne, los Hermanos Flores, Charlie Zaa and other latin bands coming in and out of Los Angeles and El Salvador. Pablo is also the director of a nonprofit that provides free music education in El Salvador called Armonia Cuscatleca. His students played for the president of El Salvador Sanchez Cerén, the International Court of Justice at the Hague and the Cello Biennale in Amsterdam. While in El Salvador, he received years of training in community music education and music activism from Musicians Without Borders. The collaboration between the Ministry of Education in El Salvador and Musicians Without Borders paved the way for “Soy Música”, a nationwide initiative to include musical education in all public schools. While participating in Soy Musica, Pablo helped train hundreds of Salvadoran public school teachers on how to use community music in their classrooms. Pablo continues to direct his nonprofit Armonia Cuscatleca from Los Angeles and also manages the Harmony Project site in La Habra, California.
