Guadalupe Gutierrez, Ph.D., J.D.

Guadalupe Gutierrez has a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Clinical Psychology as well as a J.D. from the University of Arizona, Rogers College of Law. Dr. Gutierrez began her career in academe teaching topics in clinical psychology, cross cultural issues of diagnosis, research methodologies with Latino communities and Chicano/a Studies. She then took a position as Vice President of Research and Evaluation at a social services non-profit in Arizona, Chicanos Por La Causa. In her second career as an attorney, Dr. Gutierrez has focused on criminal law issues, Constitutional law, immigration and Indian law. Dr. Gutierrez has experience in legal practice at the federal, state and tribal level. She is licensed member of the Arizona State Bar and the Federal Bar for the District of Arizona. Currently, Dr. Gutierrez is a deputy prosecutor with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe in Southern Arizona. She also is appointed as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for Indian Country Issues in the District of Arizona.
