Kevin Williamson – Dance

Forthcoming Dance Performances in 2026 from Professor of Dance, Kevin Williamson include his company’s premiere of blue and beasts at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, January 15-17. In blue, Williamson and celebrated pianist and endowed Bessie and Cecil Frankel Chair in Music Hao Huang meditate on the confines and nuance of despair. In it, Williamson spirals through a mirage of characters marked by interludes of unbearable tasks and luscious dancing and Huang brings Ryuichi Sakomoto’s most haunting compositions to life. In beasts, a trio of seekers (Scripps alumni Divya Ahuja, Sasha Marlan-Librett, and guest Rian Alcid) cultivate a movement language for the time that’s as messy as it is tender, ferocious as it is scared. On January 11 at Stomping Ground, Williamson and choreographer Becca Lemme present CO/lab, a community-based performance rooted in vocab-building, state-play, partnering, improvisation, and text, marking the culmination of a two-week laboratory for local dancers. On February 2, Williamson will share a brand new work at The Wende Museum as part of WIP – an artist-led, work-in-progress performance platform co-founded by dance artists Kate Wallich, Stephanie Zaletel, and Belize Wilheim. In February, Williamson will also choreograph Cendrillon for the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
