May 2022 – Webex presentation on Blood on Gold Mountain and anti-Asian American violence webinar for North Carolina Office of State Human Resources employees including personnel at all UNCs. https://oshr.nc.gov/news/oshr-webinars-demand

May 2022 – podcast release of self-authored play, Jianchi/Perseverance during May, Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, on https://blood-on-gold-mountain.captivate.fm/

May 2022 – article, “California Isn’t a Liberal Sanctuary where Asian Americans are Concerned” in History News Network, Columbian College of Arts & Sciences, The George Washington University https://historynewsnetwork.org/article/183203

May 2022 – Envirolab Asia sponsored Class Lab Maui trip to explore Chinese immigrant history in Maui and Lana’i within the context of social, economic and environmental change (sugar plantations, ranches, pineapple plantations, mass tourism). Feature article, Lahaina News.

June 2022 – Artist residency at La Macina di San Cresci in the historic complex of the Pieve di San Cresci, X sec. the oldest in the Chianti area, Tuscany, IT. La Macina di San Cresci closely collaborates with University of Florence, Tuscany Region and the Municipality of Greve in Chianti to the facilitate realization of artistic projects.

October 2022 – American Planning Association California conference, “Celebrating CommUNITY:” panelist for Diversity Summit “Sundown Towns,” Disney Marriot Anaheim.

October 2022 – article accepted for publication, “Relational Practices in Bali: Balinese Hinduism, Subak, and Music” (Joti Rockwell, PO co-author) in the International Journal of Asia Pacific Studies, Vol. 19, No. 1 issue. IJAPS is an award-winning electronic journal (e-journal) published by Penerbit Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM Press).

October 2022 – Scripps College Racial Justice and Equity grant award, “Hidden history of anti-Chinese violence in California” research project drawing from archives at Claremont Heritage, Pomona Public Library, Chinese Historical Society of Southern California, the Library of Congress, the National Archives, the Bancroft Library at UC Berkely, the Chinese American Oral History Project at UCLA Library, 1978-1991.

October 2022 – performances of National Endowment for the Arts Grant award performance project, “American Dreams/Asian Nightmares.” This performance event addresses the rich, sometimes tragic Asian American experience in California. The hosts: The Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena was the metropolitan LA site co-sponsor along with NEA institutional awardee Scripps College. The performance in Garrison Theater was attended by @200 people.

November 2022 – personal consultation session about liberal arts Community Engagement solicited by Molly Hiro and Jen McDaneld, directors of the NEH Humanities Connections grant award project “Core Humanities: Integration Through Curriculum, Campus, and Community” at University of Portland, OR
