Professor Cubek conducted concerts with Fonema Consort in Minneapolis-Saint Paul in May as part of a residency organized by the 113 Composers Collective. In June, he guest-conducted the Peninsula Symphony of the Palos Verdes/South Bay area in Orange County. Following that concert and after a search process that lasted over two years and that included guest conducting appearances by four outstanding conductors during the 2021-2022 concert season, the Peninsula Symphony’s Board of Directors selected David Cubek to be its new Music Director/Conductor.
