Lights, Camera, Action with Aaron Sorkin – POSTPONED TO NOVEMBER 7

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event with Aaron Sorkin has been postponed to Tuesday, November 7 at 7 p.m.

Join us for an evening of conversation with Academy Award-Winning Writer, Director, and Playwright Aaron Sorkin

Aaron Sorkin made his Broadway playwriting debut at the age of 28 with the military courtroom drama A Few Good Men, for which he received the John Gassner Award as Outstanding New American Playwright. Sorkin made the jump to feature films with his 1993 adaptation of his own play. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture. In addition to the Academy Award, he has also received the Critics’ Choice Award and the Writers Guild Award.
For television, Sorkin created and produced NBC’s renowned series The West Wing, which earned nine Emmy nominations in its first season. In 2012, Sorkin made his return to television with the HBO drama The Newsroom, bringing in an average of 7 million viewers per episode.
In 2018, Sorkin premiered his Broadway stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s iconic American novel To Kill a Mockingbird. The production currently holds the title of the highest grossing American play in Broadway history.

Aaron will be joined in conversation with Krista Carson Elhai, a beloved theater educator who has impacted the lives of theater students nationwide; most recently within the Claremont High School Theater Department where she directed over 300 productions with Thespian Troupe 2129. Krista is currently serving as the Educational Theater Association’s (EdTA) board president, and was named EdTA National Volunteer of the Year. She has received the California Educational Theater Association’s (CETA) Theatre Teacher of the Year Award, and also received the EdTA’s Presidents Award for exceptional service to the organization.

This program is made possible by Scripps Presents and the Alexa Fullerton Hampton ’42 Fund.
