An Artistic Legacy: Scripps at 100 Lecture and Exhibition Tour

Dr. Jennie Waldow ’12, curatorial associate and collections specialist at the UCLA Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts at the Hammer Museum, will present a lecture on her approach to curating An Artistic Legacy: Scripps at 100. The exhibition is the first comprehensive survey of the creative community that has shaped Scripps College and its reputation as a center for artistic innovation. Featuring more than 70 paintings, sculptures, textiles, works on paper, artists’ books, and new media by Scripps faculty and alums, the exhibition traces a century of artistic achievement and influence.
Learn how Waldow organized decades of history into a thematic and chronological narrative. Immediately after the lecture, she will lead a tour of the exhibition at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery, followed by tea. This program is presented in partnership with the Scripps Fine Arts Foundation.
An Artistic Legacy: Scripps at 100 will be on view at the Williamson Gallery through December 13, 2026. During the exhibition, the gallery will be open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 5 PM.
