Model European Union
The Model European Union is an annual simulation of a European Council Summit, bringing together undergraduate students from across the United States. Students, in teams of two, play the roles of representatives of European Union Member State delegations, and also the European Commission. Participants negotiate two issues of concern for the Presidency.
The 2026 West Coast Model European Union will take place at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA on March 6-7, 2026.
The EU Center sponsors one to four teams of students to participate in the event. This includes registration, travel, hotel and meals. Students can be from any of the 5C’s. Selected participants begin meeting in November to work on researching the two topics under discussion, honing their presentation skills, and getting to know their teammates. Typically students meet for one hour per week.
