Congratulations, graduates! Below is information for you in preparation for graduation, commencement ceremony, and dinner dance.

Now Until April 10: Name Pronunciation
Graduates are required to provide their name for their diploma and name pronunciation for the commencement ceremony in the student portal mycampus.scrippscollege.edu.
- Select Name Pronunciation from the menu (see reference)
- You can also access from your cell phone.
- Record your name as you indicated on the diploma form.
- This is how your name will appear in the commencement program.
- State your name clearly and include a phonetic pronunciation.
- All recordings must be completed by April 10.
- Graduates can collect their diploma immediately following the ceremony. Each graduate will need a photo ID to collect their diploma.
March 30-May 15: Graduate Survey
- Graduates will be emailed the survey
- Show proof of your survey completion or complete the survey in the Motley Coffeehouse on Wednesday April 15 from 11:30am-4:30pm.
- Complete the survey to be entered into a raffle for one of eight prize items, including fun goodies and Scripps merch!
March 26: Senior Day
Time: 5:30-7:30pm

March 30: Senior Tea
Time: 4-5pm
Location: Elm Tree Lawn
May 8: Cap and Gown Pick up
Time: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Location: Balch Auditorium
May 14: Commencement Rehearsal
Time: 5-6 p.m.
Location: Valencia Court
- Rehearsal is mandatory for all graduates participating in the commencement ceremony
- Students MUST arrive on time for a review of commencement ceremony procedures, last-minute announcements, and to receive important information regarding photography during the ceremony.
- Caps and gowns are not needed for rehearsal.
May 16: Senior Class Photo
Time: 3:45-4 p.m.
Location: Garrison Theater Steps
- Arrive ON TIME in cap and gown
- The Class will move directly from the photo to lining up for the Commencement processional.
- 4 p.m. the Class processes to Honnold Gate
- 5 p.m. procession begins
- Graduates process through Denison Library’s main doors on way to Elm Tree Lawn
May 16: Ceremony and Dinner Dance
COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
Time: 5-7 p.m.
Location: Elm Tree Lawn
Cost: Free
GUEST INFORMATION
- Each graduate may bring up to 7 guests. Graduate does not need to register.
- All guests must register for the event. Use this link for registration.
- Seating begins at 3:30 p.m.
- Seating is open and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Balch Auditorium will be available with a live feed of the ceremony for those who prefer to be indoors. The auditorium is air conditioned and wheelchair accessible.
ADA ACCOMMODATIONS FOR GUESTS
- Scripps College will make seating and transportation accommodations those who require them and request assistance during registration.
- Guests must bring their own wheelchair or motorized vehicle.
- A campus map with parking and event locations and accessibility access will be provided upon confirmation.
CELEBRATION DINNER DANCE
Time: 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Location: Jaqua Quad
Cost: Free for two guests; $40/ticket (3-7 tickets)
GUEST INFORMATION
- Each graduate receives two free guest tickets. Graduate does not need to register.
- Up to 5 tickets may be purchased

Class Rings, Invitations, and Announcements
Graduates may purchase Class rings through Josten’s. Commencement announcements, invitations, and photo frames may be purchased from Herff Jones.
Senior Portraits
Graduates are invited to have their formal Commencement portrait taken with a professional photographer. An appointment is required.
