Scripps College Data

Scripps College regularly compiles data about our students, staff, faculty, and campus for internal and external reporting purposes. Here are public, accessible sources of Scripps College institutional data:

Scripps College Fact Book: The Scripps College Fact Book displays historical institutional data such as student enrollment, admissions, student profile, retention and graduation rates, faculty and staff composition, and completions by major.

The Common Data Set: Scripps’ Common Data Set (CDS) includes information and data related to enrollment, admissions, academic offerings and policies, student life, faculty and class sizes, and financial aid, among other items.

The Inclusion Diversity Equity Access Dashboard: The Inclusion Diversity Equity Access (IDEA) initiative is “a comprehensive plan to align resources, programs, and events to advance inclusion, diversity, equity, and access throughout the Scripps community.” Visit the IDEA website for more information and the IDEA dashboard for student, faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees demographic information.

The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System: Scripps College submits data to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), a series of annual surveys that the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) collects from every higher education institution that participates in federal student financial aid programs.

National Student Surveys: Since 2018 Scripps College has participated in the suite of Higher Education Research Institute (HERI), including The Freshman Survey (TFS), Your First College Year Survey (YFCY) survey, and the College Senior Survey (CSS), among other national student surveys. Prior to this set of surveys, Scripps participated in the Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE) and the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Alumnae perspectives are captured through the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS) Alumni survey. Visit the National Student Surveys page for more details.

The WASC Senior College and University Commission Key Indicators Dashboard (KID): Scripps College’s accreditor, the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) provides a data visualization tool, the Key Indicators Dashboard (KID), as part of their “better conversations, better data” initiative. Data is pulled from publicly available sources and includes a wider range of characteristics and outcomes of institutions, many broken down by demographics.
