Meet Sam ’24

Hi Everyone! I’m Sam, a Sophomore from Hopkins, Minnesota. I am undecided in my major but am interested in exploring Psychology, Media Studies, Gender Studies, and Biology. I am also interested in Music and am thinking of being a music minor. Outside of class, I do voice lessons, work in the admissions office, and attend the mixed-race affinity group Blend. I am super excited to be on campus and try more new things! My favorite ways to spend my free time are volunteering with an animal shelter, spending time with dogs, listening to music, and spending time with my friends and family.

In my search process for the right college for me, I knew one of the biggest things for me was having a supportive community where I could push myself and be supported in all my endeavors, both academic and not. I am so glad that I found Scripps, even having been only remote I know that the people at Scripps truly embody what I was looking for. Picking a college is a personal choice so my best piece of advice is to go with your gut and remember that you will be the one attending the college so find the right place for you.

Having a remote-first year was not how I imagined my college would go but even in that setting I bonded with peers and made some friends. I am beyond excited to be on campus this fall and be able to experience the true campus life and classes in person.

As I start my (in person) journey at Scripps, I am excited to share it with you all! Stay tuned for more blog posts from me and the other admission ambassadors and our Instagram office hours. If you have any questions about my experience at Scripps please don’t hesitate to reach out, my email is sclark9339@scrippscollege.edu.
