Meet Frances ’26

Hi everyone! My name is Frances, and I am a second-year student at Scripps College from Fullerton, CA. My prospective major is English, and I will probably be minoring in Biology. I was drawn to Scripps because of its tight-knit community and beautiful campus when looking for the college I would attend. When I attended my admitted students’ day, I knew that this was the place for me.

One of the things that I love most about Scripps is the small college experience. Scripps College has made me feel at home, from the tight-knit community of students to the close relationships I can foster with faculty. Additionally, being at a small college means the school’s resources are at your fingertips, as faculty, administration, and student clubs are all within a quick email. Everyone here is so supportive and friendly, and there is a real sense of collaboration and camaraderie that you can sense walking through Seal Court or Elm Tree Lawn.

Another great thing about Scripps is the variety of extracurricular activities and clubs available to students. I got involved in The Scripps Voice (TSV) as a Copy Editor Intern in my first year, and it has been a great way to get to know the colleges from a journalistic perspective. Now, I am a copy editor at TSV! Also, I have had the opportunity to lead a Spring Break trip to Zion National Park for O.W.L. (Outdoor Women’s Leadership). It was probably the highlight of my first year!

I feel beyond fortunate to be part of the Scripps College community. If you have any questions about what it’s like to be a student here, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]. I would love to chat with you!
