Fall 2024

MAY REMINDERS: 

  • Activate Scripps Student Email/Network Account: Your Scripps Student Email is a vital form of communication between you and the school. You should be receiving an email from IT with a link to set your Scripps Student Email. Once you receive that email, please set up your email so you can gain access to Inside Scripps. Please see Scripps IT for more details.
  • Housing Accommodations: If you are in need of a housing accommodation due to health conditions, you will need to get in contact with Academic Resources and Services (ARS). In order for Residential Life to place you based off of a housing accommodation, ARS will need to approve your request for the accommodation. All paperwork for Housing Accommodations is due June 14, 2024, by 5pm. You can fill out the Housing Accommodation form by clicking here: Housing Accommodation Request Form

JUNE REMINDERS: 

  • Office of the Registrar Important Memo: Please read this important memo from the Office of the Registrar, it contains important information to help you prepare for course registration in August. To read this memo, click here.
  • Housing Questionnaire:  Students must fill out the housing questionnaire by 11:59PM PST, TBD. Students will receive an email from NSPO on TBD with the link to the housing portal where the questionnaire can be found and filled out.
  • Housing Accommodations:  Housing Accommodation Paperwork is due on June 14, 2024. You can fill out the Housing Accommodation form by clicking here: Housing Accommodation Request Form. All housing accommodation paperwork is processed through the Academic Resources and Services office (ARS). If you have any questions regarding the form or the status of the form, please reach out to ARS via email ars@scrippscollege.edu or phone 909-621-8921.
  • Activate Scripps Student Email/Network Account: Your Scripps Student Email is a vital form of communication between you and the school.  If you haven’t set up your student email, please do so as soon as possible. If you are having difficulties with this process, please contact Scripps IT for more details.
  • Review Scripps Immunization Guidelines: Scripps College deadline to submit your Immunization records is July 1, 2024. To see guidelines, click here.
  • Review the Scripps Move-In Day and Orientation Schedule: New schedule underway TBD.
  • Get familiar with the Inside Scripps Student Page: The Inside Scripps page is the Scripps website that only students, staff and faculty have access to. You can access it by clicking here.
  • Meet the Scripps Student Affairs Staff: Meet them here.
  • Tuition Payment information:  Please note that your Tuition payment plan must be completed by June 19, 2024. For more information, click here. To complete your Tuition payment plan, click here. 
  • Entrance Health Forms:  Please review and fill out the Entrance Health form and submit to Student Health Services (SHS) by July 15, 2024. For more information, see July reminders below.
  • Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)– Get familiar with the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). For more information from Gallager Student Health, click here. For more information about Scripps Aetna policy, click here.

  • Music Auditions: The Claremont Colleges have a strong commitment to music and offer an array of music opportunities for students.

JULY REMINDERS: 

  • Complete and submit all health forms: Student Health Services (SHS) deadline for Immunization Records and Entrance Health forms is July 15, 2024 however, Scripps deadline to submit your immunization records is July 1, 2024. We want to encourage all students to complete it earlier so that they have an opportunity to make any updates up until the final deadline set by SHS. Each student must upload a completed entrance physical and immunization record obtained from their home doctor, prior school, or military to the Online Health Portal. Each student must complete a series of Online Health Forms, including a TB screening form, accessed through the Health Service student portal. Any student who will be under the age of 18 on August 15, 2024, must complete the Minor Consent to Treat Form.  Failure in not having these forms completed and turned in, can hinder your move in process. Students who have not completed these forms, will be redirected to SHS on move-in day to ensure all updated forms are received. 
  • Please allow 7-21 days for your forms to be processed. Once your forms are processed, you will receive a secure message through your Student Health Portal, advising you if you are compliant or if there are outstanding requirements. Correspondence regarding Athletic Clearance Requirements will come directly from your Athletics Team.
  • Complete Mental Health Recommendations: To provide optimum mental health services for Scripps students, please complete this optional brief survey Entrance Counseling Survey. Information provided in this survey is confidential and access to any information is strictly limited to healthcare professionals at Monsour Counseling and Psychological Services.
  • Please note: Scripps College strongly recommends the COVID-19 vaccine. Receiving the COVID-19 vaccine is a safe and dependable way to build immunity to COVID-19. Studies have shown that the vaccine can reduce your risk of hospitalization or death from COVID-19 or developing long COVID​. The CDC recommends that everyone 6 months and older stay up to date with the COVID-19 vaccine.

  • New Student Information for Academic Advisors: Complete and submit this form: New Student Information for Academic Advisors by TBD. The information you provide will be shared with your Advisor and will help us prepare our programs and services.
  • Keck Summer Science Immersion Program (SSCIP): SSCIP pre-orientation is scheduled for TBD. Students must apply by July 7, 2024. For more information, click here.
  • Review Registration/Portal info page: Students can begin getting familiar with the Registration/Portal page and attend one of several portal demonstrations (via Zoom) offered starting in early/mid-August. Details coming soon. To access the page, click here. 
  • Music Auditions: The Claremont Colleges have a strong commitment to music and offer an array of music opportunities for students.
  • Review the “What to bring to Scripps College” PDF: We want you to feel comfortable and cozy in your room at Scripps, please see the pdf to assist you with planning what to bring. You can see the pdf by clicking here.
  • Confirm Travel Arrangements: Now is the time to start confirming travel arrangements and planning your arrival to campus on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Please note that we cannot accommodate general early arrivals.
  • Check Housing Portal: Room placements will be available for students to see starting late July. Please check the housing portal to see placements.
  • Scripps Scrapps: Scripps Scrapps is a program where students can purchase gently used items at a discount. For more information, click here.
  • Review the Scripps Move-In Day and Orientation Schedule:  Schedule coming soon.
  • Student Mailbox number: In late July students will be able to log into their housing portal to see their assigned mailbox number. The student’s mailbox number is important as it is needed to send letters and packages to campus. If you are having trouble locating your mailbox number in your housing portal, please reach out to the Residential Life office for assistance. You can reach them at reslife@scrippscollege.edu.
  • Get familiar with how to utilize the mail room: Students can mail and receive packages from the Scripps Campus Mail room. Please click here to read the Mail Room PDF. The mail room can begin receiving packages from first year students on August 6, 2024.

AUGUST REMINDERS:

  • Core-1 Book List: Arrive to campus prepared with the Core-1 books. For the Core-1 Book List, click here.
  • Mail Room: Starting August 6, 2024, the mail room can begin receiving packages. Students can send packages to campus to alleviate the stress of having to bring everything with them all at once. Click here for more information on how to send a package to campus.
  • Scripps Course Catalog: The 2024-2025 Scripps College Academic Catalog will be published to the College’s website in early August. When the catalog become available you will be able to access it by clicking here.
  • Pre-Orientation Videos: Students should watch all pre-orientation videos located in their Canvas account.
  • Course registration: Course registration will take place on Friday, August 23, 2024.
  • Guidebook: Review Guidebook prior to arriving to campus.
  • Meet Roommate Virtually: Students can see who their roommates are through the housing portal. We encourage students to reach out to their roommates and introduce themselves and discuss their living arrangements.
  • Complete the First-Year Survey (CIRP TFS). The survey link will be sent to your Scripps email address on TBD, and you have until TBD to submit.

SEPTEMBER REMINDERS: 

  • Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)– Deadline to enroll or waive is September 13, 2o24. For more information from Gallager Student Health, click here. For more information about Scripps Aetna policy, click here.
  • Office of Student Events (OSE): Follow OSE on Instagram.
  • Meal Plan Change Request Form: Students can adjust their meal plan by filling out the meal plan change request form during the first two weeks of school.
