Hao Huang, Bessie and Cecil Frankel Chair in Music and professor of music, spoke with KCRW and KPCC about the 150th anniversary of the LA Chinatown Massacre, one of the worst instances of racial violence in California history. “This isn’t just an Asian American history, this is an American history,” Huang said. “If we’re ever going to have real peace and understanding among each other, we need to recognize each other’s stories.” Huang’s upcoming performance in commemoration of the massacre, which will be held on the Scripps College campus, also received coverage in the Daily Bulletin.
