In the Media: Dwandalyn Reece ’85 Curates Playlist of Black Music on NPR

Trustee Dwandalyn Reece ’85, associate director of curatorial affairs and curator of music at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, assembled a playlist for NPR’s Tiny Desk Playlist series. “A celebration of African-American music must acknowledge the underpinnings of the quest for freedom and justice that the music represents,” she said. “Black music inspires by its resiliency and evolution despite centuries of racial oppression.”
