Scripps Presents, Scripps College’s signature public events series, is proud to launch its fall 2024 season with notable figures across entertainment, sports, academia, politics and beyond. In addition to the popular @Noon events, this year’s program includes new mini-series devoted to fine arts and live performances.

“From bold political analysis to stand-up to climate activism, this season is as much about balance as it is about pushing topical boundaries,” says Marcy Robinson, Scripps College’s director of events and conference services. “We can’t wait for eventgoers to be inspired, entertained and eager to engage with Scripps’ gorgeous campus and expanding community.”

Headliners from Scripps and its Global Community

The season will highlight appearances by CNN political commentator Van Jones discussing the 2024 presidential election; two-time Olympian and tennis champion Andy Roddick (Served with Andy Roddick) sharing insights on athlete mental wellness; stand-up comedy by Emmy-nominated actor Janelle James (Abbott Elementary); an exploration of unity and political tensions from The New York Times chief political analyst Nate Cohn and Michael Barbaro (The Daily); music from award-winning Broadway producer Michael Alden; and a conversation on Indigenous and immigrant climate activism with United Nations High-Level Champion and Re-Earth cofounder Xiye Bastida.

Members of the Scripps community will also headline events. Spotlights include a deep dive on Decompositions, the upcoming photography exhibition at Scripps’ Williamson Gallery by ecofeminist artist and Professor of Art Nancy Macko and a night of spiritual storytelling about SoCal’s Indigenous ancestors from Bessie and Cecil Frankel Chair in Music and professor of music Hao Huang, composer Micah Huang and partners from the Gabrielino-Shoshone tribal council and Anahuacalmecac International University Preparatory High.

Select programs will have a cost for admission. All programs will have free tickets reserved for Scripps College students and a limited number of free tickets reserved for Claremont Colleges students on a first-come, first-serve basis.
