Scripps Presents Levitt on the Lawn: Quetzal in Concert

Join us for an evening of award-winning music on Bowling Green! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, food, and drinks, or purchase dinner from one of the available food trucks. The College will also provide a limited number of lawn chairs.

QUETZAL is a relentlessly innovative Grammy award-winning ensemble that narrates the social, cultural and political stories of humanity. Quetzal’s live shows are filled with moments of tenderness, fervor and vivid storytelling that transport the audience into a world of affirmation and belonging. They have graced stages across the U.S., Canada, Asia and Mexico for 30 years. Recognized by notable institutions such as the Library of Congress, The Kennedy Center and the traveling exhibit “American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music,” which was sponsored by the Smithsonian Institute, Quetzal was featured as leaders and innovators of Chicano music – this feat coupled with their Grammy Award winning album.

Levitt on the Lawn is sponsored in part by Scripps Presents and underwritten by Scripps alumna Liz Levitt Hirsch, ‘74. Liz is Board President of The Levitt Foundation, a social impact funder at the intersection of music, public space and community building, bringing free concerts to towns and cities across the country. The Levitt Foundation partners with changemakers and nonprofits across the country to activate underused outdoor spaces, creating joyous, inclusive destinations that spark ripple effects of positive impact and strengthen the social fabric of communities. In 2023, the Levitt Foundation is supporting nonprofits in 40+ communities to present more than 600 free outdoor concerts, bringing people together of all ages and backgrounds.
