The Huffington Post reported that Gabby Giffords ’93, former Arizona Democratic congressmember who survived an assassination attempt in 2011, will begin campaigning across the country to bolster the midterm campaigns of Democrats who support gun control. The Giffords to Fight Gun Violence organization, which Giffords leads with her husband, was formed after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in 2012, with the mission of changing cultural attitudes around guns and safety, implementing changes to gun policy through lobbying and legislation, and challenging injustice through the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
