Assistant professor Branwen Williams’ knowledge about how temperature changes and water chemistry affect sea coral was highlighted in a March 2017 article in Smithsonian.com magazine. Williams and her arctic research team are considered on the leading edge of coralline research, and are currently focused on using boron isotopes to help determine pH, a critical component in water chemistry.
