CARE@SCRIPPS RESOURCES

STUDENT HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

CARE@SCRIPPS stands for Community, Assessment, Resources, and Education and is a program housed in Dean of Students. CARE@SCRIPPS provides assistance to the Scripps community in navigating complex issues and supports students as they advocate, develop, and sustain success in school-life balance. Whether you are here seeking support for yourself or someone else, we are available to help you problem solve, understand options, and connect with resources.

If students are having difficulty accessing services, they should reach out to CARE@scrippscollege.edu. for guidance in these situations and to facilitate a connection with campus and community partners.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT

  • Take advantage of Tutoring Services, Academic Coaching, and General Academic Accommodations by reaching out to ars@scrippscollege.edu.
  • To begin the Academic Accommodations process, please create a profile.
  • Schedule a meeting with your Academic Advisor who can provide you with general academic advising. Questions about your academic advisor can be directed to the Registrar’s Office or the Dean of Faculty’s Office.

FINANCIAL AND OTHER SUPPORT

  • Students with financial needs should work with the offices of Financial Aid or Student Accounts to discuss funding options.
  • The Student Emergency Fund provides financial assistance to Scripps students who experience a temporary financial hardship resulting from an emergency or crisis situation. For more information, please contact the Dean of Students Office at deanofstudentsoffice@scrippscollege.edu or call (909) 621-8277.
  • Financial Aid is available to work with students on an individual basis. Students should email Financial Aid at finaid@scrippscollege.edu or visit Financial Aid for more information.
  • For questions regarding Students Accounts, students can email Estefany Gutierrez-Castellanos at egutierr@scrippscollege.edu or visit Student Accounts.
  • Tech Support: Questions can be submitted to IT at help@scrippscollege.edu or call (909) 607-3406.

CASE MANAGEMENT

The case manager coordinates student services and provides support in the process of being connected to the appropriate resources at Scripps College, the Claremont Colleges consortium, and the regional community. In addition to supporting students, case management is also available to consult with faculty, staff, parents, and others any time they are worried about a student’s behavior or mental health.

Case Management will provide a referral if there is a need for further resources to reduce barriers and connect them to supportive resources related to: mental health, food insecurity, textbook scholarship awards, follow up services, MLOA return assessment and support, personal care, and student wellness check ins.

CRISIS AND SUPPORT RESOURCES

It is important to stay connected and rely on each other during times of uncertainty or crisis. Odds are that there are others who share similar concerns. Sometimes naming what you feel helps provide perspective and makes it feel less scary or big. If you need additional support or don’t know who to contact, here are some additional local and national resources:

  • Administrator On-Call: Call Campus Safety at (909) 607-2000 and ask to speak to the Scripps on-call administrator.
  • Monsour Counseling and Psychological Services (MCAPS): (909) 621-8202. For after-hours emergencies, call the number listed above and dial “1” when prompted to be connected with an on-call therapist.
  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Call or Text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org
  • Project Sister 24/7 Hotline: (909) 626-4357
  • Trevor Project: LGBTQ: 1 (866) 488-7386 suicide hotline for LGBTQ youth
