Founded in 1998 with the assistance of the European Commission, the European Union Center of California serves to advance public understanding of European integration and transatlantic relations through education and research. The Center sponsors a curriculum in European Union Studies at the Claremont Colleges; provides opportunities for students to study in Europe and to intern at various international organizations based in Europe; hosts scholarly conferences as well as lectures by distinguished visitors; and participates in the West Coast Model EU. To fulfill its mission, the EU Center collaborates with students, staff and faculty from the Claremont campuses as well as with individuals and organizations from around the world.

Directions

Major highway routes to the Claremont Colleges are Freeway I-10 (the San Bernardino), Freeway 57 (the Orange), Freeway U.S. 60 (the Pomona), Freeway I-210 (the Foothill).

To reach Claremont from any area except Pasadena, take the I-10 to Indian Hill Boulevard (exit 47), and drive north. To reach the Scripps campus, turn right on Tenth Street and proceed east to the corner of Tenth Street and Columbia Avenue.

To reach I-to from Orange County and south, take 57 north or, from Long Beach, take the I-605 north. From west and southwest Los Angeles, take U.S. 60 east to 57 north to I-10 east.

From Pasadena and the San Fernando Valley, take the I-210 Freeway east and exit at Towne Avenue. Turn right onto Towne, then left onto Foothill Boulevard. Continue on Foothill just over a mile and turn right onto Dartmouth Avenue. Proceed south to Tenth Street and turn left. Continue on Tenth Street until it terminates at Columbia Avenue.

You may park in the parking lot as you enter Scripps College at the end of 9th Street, or you may park along the curbside of most streets within the Claremont Colleges campuses.
