This summer, Smith College announced the appointment of Patricia “Trish” Jackson ’82 as vice president for advancement.

With more than 20 years of experience in advancement for higher education, Jackson will lead fund-raising, alumnae relations, and other development activities for Smith.

Smith College is a private four-year women’s college in Northampton, Massachusetts. Consistently ranked among the nation’s leading liberal arts colleges, it is the largest undergraduate women’s college in the nation—enrolling approximately 2,800 students.

Before accepting this appointment, Jackson worked at Dartmouth College as the associate vice president for development and at Mount Holyoke College as advancement director. She began her career in 1983 at Scripps College, establishing the Scripps Association of Families to support the mission of the College through programming and fund-raising.

Jackson spent nearly three years as vice president of education at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and is an active volunteer with the organization at both the international and district levels.

Jackson earned a bachelor of psychology from Scripps and a master of business administration from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University. She has served as a board member and president of the Alumnae Association at Scripps. In July 2005, Jackson began a three-year term as an alumna trustee.

Boots Pascual, visiting assistant professor of theatre and dance at Pomona College, will direct the musical. The production offers opportunities in performance, design, and technical work to all interested students of The Claremont Colleges and this year’s troupe includes many Scripps students—6 out of 20 cast and 10 stage crew members.

Performances will be held at the Seaver Main Stage Theatre at 8 p.m. November 17 through 19 and afternoon performances at 2 p.m. on November 19 and 20. Tickets are $5 for students, faculty, staff, and senior citizens; general public tickets are $10. They can be purchased through the Seaver Theatre Box Office at (909) 621- 8525 or 607-4375.
