The Laspa Center for Leadership will host the 2022 Student Leadership Institute (SLI) this August 18-20. Program content combines training and leadership development in a series of sessions tailored to engage student leaders in building community and enhancing the student experience at Scripps College. The Institute is designed with two primary goals in mind:
- Create a common leadership experience for student leaders.
- Provide opportunities among student leaders to collaborate and connect with each other.
The 2022 Institute will focus on re-establishing connection and community among those learning, living, and working at Scripps College. This year’s itinerary is being finalized but previous sessions have included a leadership self-assessment, “Listening as Leaders,” “Leading with Empathy,” “Cultural Communication,” and “Inclusion & Equity as a Student Leader.” Also goal-setting, project management, time management, creating effective programs, facilitating meetings and events, transition reports, and marketing basics.
Eligibility
Participation includes Student Affairs student staff, CLORG leadership, and others who attend SLI as part of fall training requirements in their campus departments. Residential Life will provide the Laspa Center with the names of the students who have been authorized to return early for SLI. Laspa will then provide the students a link to the registration form.
